Poplar Avenue Safety and Mobility Plan

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Fairpointe Planning played a crucial role in supporting the Poplar Avenue Safety and Mobility Plan in Memphis, TN. In the process of formulating the safety and mobility plan, Fairpointe Planning extensively researched and reviewed key plans related to the study corridor, including the Memphis 3.0 Comprehensive Plan, Transit Vision Plan, 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan, Fiscal Year 2023- 2026 Transportation Improvement Program, Greater Memphis Regional Freight Plan, Memphis Region Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan, Bus Stop Design and Access Guide, and the Poplar Southern Corridor Study. Summarizing these plans, the team compiled a comprehensive report outlining relevant projects and initiatives connected to the project corridor. Additionally, Fairpointe conducted a thorough field review to document existing conditions related to multimodal travel along the corridor. The team also focused on developing multimodal access and mobility improvements, particularly targeting anchor areas identified in the Memphis 3.0 Comprehensive Plan.

Fairpointe Planning collected contact information for all steering committee members and actively participated in each meeting, meticulously creating comprehensive meeting minutes. Additionally, the team contributed to public awareness by preparing graphics for social media posts and website updates regarding public notices. Lastly, Fairpointe contributed to documenting the public involvement process, summarizing it for inclusion in the final Poplar Avenue Safety and Mobility Plan document.
